!The Challenge
Testa Omega-3 has been selling their fish-free omega-3 supplements via a WooCommerce store since 2014. The WordPress/WooCommerce website had been managed by multiple tech partners over the years and had built up a significant list of customisations and plugins that affected the usability of the site. This legacy also greatly affected the product subscription options Testa wanted to offer their clients. With a +85% subscription sales model, Testa needed to change the subscription discount/frequency settings to improve business margins for healthy further growth. Easier said than done on a site like that!
The Solution
Having the benefit of knowing the business details from a previous ecommerce strategy service, Zinzo was able to understand the requirements for change in great detail, fully aligned with the business objectives. These insights and access to product/customer knowledge helped in redesigning a solution. Following a 1-month research phase, the new product code structure was designed on the WooCommerce platform, leveraging a newer subscription-supporting plugin. Within 2 weeks, this custom code solution was implemented, with the most effort put on keeping the old SKUs operational (no change for existing clients) alongside the new SKUs. A custom transition script ensured both SKU sets operated in line with existing financial software, 3rd party platform integrations, and all logistical partners.
