Challenge
Testa Omega—3 sells their fish free omega 3 supplements via a WooCommerce store since 2014. The Wordpress/WooCommerce website has been managed by multiple Tech partners over the years and had build up a significant list of customisations and plugins that effected the usability of the site.
This legacy also greatly affected the product subscription options Testa wanted to offer their clients. With a +85% subscription sales model Testa needed to change the subscription discount/frequency settings to improve business margins for healthy further growth.
Easier set than done on a site like that!
Solution
Having the benefit of knowing the business details, due to a previous Ecom strategy delivered service, Zinzo was able to understand the requirements for change in great detail, fully aligned to the business objectives. These insights and access to product/customer knowledge helped redesigning a solution.
Results
Following a 1 month research phase the new product (code) structure could be designed on the WooCommerce platform, leveraging a newer subscription-supporting plugin.
Within 2 weeks this custom code solution was implemented, with the most effort put on keep the old SKU’s operational (no change for existing clients) next to the new SKU’s. A custom transition script made sure both SKU sets operated in line with existing financial software, 3rd party platform integrations and all logistical partners.
Looking back this challenging custom code solution was a smooth transition for client’s, enabling Testa Omega—3 to continue their growth plans.
